Additional precautions are:
- Airborne precautions for suspected airborne diseases (e.g. tuberculosis, measles, chickenpox, rubella)
- Contact precautions for patients with diarrhea or infected with an antibiotic-resistant organism (e.g. MRSA, C. difficile)
- Droplet precautions for patients with fever and cough or other symptoms that would suggest a respiratory infection (e.g influenza)
