Joanne ARNBC AwardFrom the ARNBC website:

Joanne is currently the Education and Practice Coordinator for the Provincial Infection Control Network for BC (PICNet). She has integrated all the accumulated knowledge, skills and judgement from her nursing positions and uses them in her current role to impact infection control practices across BC and Canada. Joanne is a master at blending leadership and coaching to build capacity for individuals and organizations. She has consistently produced guidelines with speed and quality clearly demonstrating her ability to engage in critical appraisals of current research and translate this evidence, as required, to committee members. She also works hard to meet with and listen to underrepresented groups, such as First Nations communities all across B.C.

Joanne consistently demonstrates what the best educators have in common. She is an avid lifelong learner and her impact as an educator is felt at the highest level of systems change as well as at the individual level by educating and guiding her committee members to learn infection control practices and think critically. Hundreds of people have participated on committees led by Joanne and all have been enriched both in knowledge and skill because of her inclusive and expert leadership as an educator.
